Some random pics.
I went to the dealership a couple weeks ago to get some stuff fixed, among them the key that broke after seven-ish years of use. It's one of those switchblade style keys, and the plastic piece that keeps the metal key blade affixed to the buttons (and in contact with the magic electronics inside) popped. The apartment is pretty close to the Capitol Expressway auto mall, so my current dealer is Bob Lewis VW. They also keep sending me mailings saying they totally want to buy my car back to "fulfill special requests" (i.e., have done so twice).
I was at Google the other day. This is the only picture I took. I got there around lunchtime, the first day, so some people were riding around on the company bikes. That and the environmental contrast to walking down 4th from Caltrain made Google feel very Pleasantville.
Last night I left the office pretty late, so I got to enjoy some quality time with The Economist, by trying to catch up with all their bolded podcasts I'd let pile up since December.
