If you were still in suspense, I did get the TV I bought:
- new Xbox 360 I bought when I decided to buy a tv (HDMI)
- Wii I already had (proprietary ↔ component)
- free upsampling DVD player that got me to buy the thing (HDMI)
- MacBook Pro (DVI ↔ HDMI)
- white iMac (mini-DVI ↔ DVI ↔ HDMI)
Yay, my copy of The World Ends With You (which the manual deigns to call “WEWY” in a couple places) arrived, just in time for lots of trainriding. I played through the first 90 minutes and it's actually pretty nice (though Contact lost my interest after a while too--I'm not actually much of an RPGer).
I told Nick (and the internet) yesterday that this, Twenty Lines, is the best boring Tetris clone ever. However, that was before I saw Tetroid 2012, a creepy, mashed-up Tetris clone for Windows PC that's actually “intended to promote ‘experimental’ electronic music, by means of an addictive catalyst”—that is, it's a cool Tetris++ clone that has a v/a netlabel release built in. So now I'm not so sure.
There are a couple more days left to get Gish, the 2005 IGF winning physics platformer in which you help a ball of tar save his girlfriend from sewer monsters, for $5 on Steam. I bought the hell out of it last week and neglected to mention it, and so can you. But not for long.
Speaking of indie games, Atari, developers Metanet Software, and mobile developers Silverbirch Studios are bringing n+, the successor of that classic awesome Flash game n, to the DS, PSP, and Xbox 360.
Rock Band is awesome. At least with Steve, Tiff, and Adam.
Dear Amazon.com Customer,
As someone who has purchased adventure video games at Amazon.com, you may be interested in playing "Ben 10." ...
Dear Amazon.com,
I regret to inform you that this statement is not accurate. It would be contrary to federal statutes for me to care any less about Ben 10: Protector of Earth for Wii, PS 2, PSP, and DS, if only because it's a licensed game, a genre unto itself set early on its path by the infamous E.T. for 2600.
P.S. Where's my Mario Galaxy??
More people carried the lawn gnome through Half-Life 2 Episode 2 than squished every antlion grub. Which, actually, is not surprising at all, since you can at least find the lawn gnome.
Apparently I'm one of the elite 13.4% who killed a Hunter with its own flechettes.
