I'd be interested if anyone can make up a good word related to one hundred, as this is neologasm post #93. I already have nine other unpublished terms but I didn't write definitions before I forgot what they should mean (or added them because they sound mellifluous and would have to make up definitions to post them).
I hate interrupted REM. It's like you're pumping a bunch of characters and plot threads through cables, zig-zagging along in a big bundle, when suddenly you take a huge machete and slice clean through them all, spilling everything out so it oozes and congeals into one big final meaningless mass instead of letting everything get where it needs to go. I know when I've finished a dream and woken up naturally because I don't wake up unsettled.
So I was throwing this party, and someone describing a wtf used the word "beer" to mean multiply ("he beered it by one, can you believe that??") and I thought I should blog that, then a moment occurred when everyone was moving to another place at the party, and Alice Cooper (he was there) had stood up on my parents' bed (that's where we were) and I saw his big black boots with gleaming chrome metal bits all over, while some indie rawk metal girl asked him how his art was going.
Meanwhile, I haven't followed Eddie Izzard's work much at all, but how crazy is it he's in a tv show?
Yeah, I have a whole blog about making up words. Lately I'm doing it twice a week, Monday and Friday. I thought Monday's was kind of lame, but apparently people really like lolmate.
Remember sniglets? Do you have any favorites? Have you ever made up your own word? (Now's as good a time as any.)
Inspired by Cute Overlord.
In comparison with Baroque Cycle, I finished Altered Carbon on the train this morning! This quote inspired next Tuesday's neologasm post:
"I take it I don't have to introduce myself," I said quietly. ...
"Do you know this man, Kadmin?" Ortega asked.
"Hoping for a confession, Lieutenant?" Kadmin threw back his head and laughed musically. "Oh, the crudity! This man? This woman, maybe? Or, yes, even a dog could be trained to say as much as he has said, given the right tranquilizers, of course. They do tend to go pitifully insane when you decant them if not. But, yes, even a dog. We sit here, three silhouettes carved from electronic sleet in the Difference Storm, and you talk like a cheap period drama. Limited vision, Lieutenant, limited vision. Where is the voice that said altered carbon would free us from the cells of our flesh? The vision that said we would be angels."
